Castello di Radda-Chianti Classico

Castello di Radda is relatively new to the Chianti wine making world; the Beretta family bought this vineyard in 2003. The family has a long tradition of making sparkling wines in northern part of Italy near Brescia (Lo Sparviere). They brought their expertise to Tuscany and currently produce 5 red wines: 2 Chianti Classico’s, to Chianti Classico Reserves, and a super Tuscan. One of their Chianti Classico’s and Reserve’s are made with 100% Sangiovese grapes (Chianti Classico rules indicate that the wines must have a minimum of 90% sangiovese grapes).

To Tour: Castello di Radda offers free tours and tastings during their hours of operation. No reservation is needed, however,  they are willing to organize more in depth tours and tastings with a reservation. They can accommodate up to 10 people.

Allison Says: “Castello di Radda is a new and modern cellar built completely underground. I love the family’s interest keeping with the area’s traditions and their respect for the Chianti Classico territory. The staff is extremely welcoming and you feel their passion for creating high quality wines as you visit the estate.”
